In late June, with beautiful weather forecast, I set off on my bike with a tent, a toothbrush and not much else.
On country roads, I headed north through Essex and up into Suffolk and then east to the coast.
After three days on the road, I stopped at a station and got a late night train back to London.
The trip was a delight, for the views, for the quiet, for the wildlife and for the realisation that everything boils down to fuel.
